Save the Date for Tech It Out 2012: November 8th
Tech It Out is WICT Rocky Mountain’s annual, award-winning, technology educational program that encourages participants to share and discuss current trends in existing and emerging technology. Tech It Out invites a panel of distinguished industry leaders to speak on technology innovation, the evolving role of the Internet, emerging trends, and more. Tech It Out also facilitates a Buzzword workshop, features product demonstrations, and highlights positive examples of women in technology.
Through Tech It Out, men and women professionals learn more about emerging technologies, cross-industry evolution, and how to meet changing customer needs.
Mission of the Tech It Out Initiative
The Tech It Out mission is to:
- Demystify technology for professionals at all levels of the organization
- Highlight women technology leaders in an interactive, creative forum
- Provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about new and existing technologies driving innovation
- Inspire participants to advance their career paths along the technology continuum.
The one-day conference is designed for both men and women and enable peer-to peer exchanges, and see live demonstrations of new and emerging technologies and services.
History of Tech It Out
Since it was established in 2007, Tech It Out has grown to become the must-attend technology event in the Rocky Mountain region for both men and women industry professionals.
In its inaugural year, Tech It Out was awarded a prestigious Beacon Award by the Association of Cable Communicators. In 2009, Tech It Out focused on consumer technology, including “anytime, anywhere, on any device” technology. The event sold out. 2010 was another banner year for Tech It Out, featuring key technology leaders from cable providers to programming to telecommunications hardware and software companies. The event sold out. 2011 was arguable Tech It Out's most successful year yet. The event surpassed previous years in attendance, sponsorship, content and student scholarships.
Why Attend?
Women account for more than half of the workforce but according to the National Science Foundation, women comprise only 25 percent of math and computer science professionals and just 12 percent of engineering professionals. WICT Rocky Mountain’s Tech It Out program builds awareness of the tremendous career opportunities in the telecommunications technology sectors. The production value of the event is always first class with a focus on seeing, touching and asking questions about new and emerging technology.
Each year, WICT features:
- An outstanding line up of cable and media industry speakers and diverse key note speakers.
- Educational sessions focused on innovation, competition, and cutting-edge technologies.
- New product and service demonstrations.
- Networking and mentoring opportunities.
