It is often said that change is the only constant in today's organizations. Many organizational changes are critical to business and organizational success. Despite this, organizational change is often met with indifference or resistance.
In Leading Change, John Koter estimated that 85% of companies fail to meet their objectives. Changes initiatives fail not for lack of need, not for lack of technical excellence, but for underestimating the effect that a change has on people and that people can exert on change.
The Tipping Point team concept helps us understand how change happens and how to create positive change and lasting results. A Tipping Point, as defined by author Malcolm Gladwell is, "That magic moment when an idea, trend or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire". This workshop will focus on a new model of change that recognizes that change happens when people change and they move from being disconnected to committed to that change. Tipping Point operate off the premises that, change, like an epidemic shares three common characteristics:
- Little causes can have big effects
- Change happens not gradually but at one dramatic moment.
